Students For Liberty

March 17, 2018, students spoke out for capitalism and the US constitution.

This group of Brigham Young University Idaho students gathered for their organization called Students For Liberty.

The keynote speakers were the CEO of Students For Liberty, Wolf Von, and Idaho Rep.  Ron Nate.  This event saw its speakers discuss candidly such topics as free people, free market engages political discourse and advocates classical liberal ideas.

This rapidly growing network sees students from all over the world support the Students For Liberty movement

This organization is the largest libertarian group in the world, with a mission statement “to educate, develop and empower the next generation of leaders of liberty.”

Nate has taught economics at BYU since 2001.  With his experience in the legislature, he tells his students how they can make a difference on Capitol Hill.

In the last 4 years, he and a few other legislators have had stellar results in reducing government, expanding freedom and lowering taxes.  Nate also recently sponsored legislation to stress firearm safety in public schools for Idaho.

Students For Liberty is a powerful organization for students to get involved in.

“BYU-I has a strong group of conservative, liberty-minded students,” Nate said. “Now they have a place to work together for positive change in our government and policies. Students for Liberty is a powerful organization for students to get involved.”

With many in attendance, Chris Harelson organized this event to bring like-minded people together.  “Capitalism and classical principles are what America is founded on,” Harelson said. “So now we are motivating the rising generation to take action and continue to build a free market and free people.”

His idea was to motivate people to make today’s world more harmonious and prosperous.

“Free people and free markets are the best formulae for a happy and prosperous society,” Harelson said.

The goal for students is to keep building its members not only in Rexburg but all over Idaho so all these students can build a community that creates positive change.

The intention is throughout the year for these students from all over the world can come out and passionately discuss their love for the constitution and liberty together.
