Pepsi Launches Startup Accelerator

While aggressively rolling out a new sparkling water line called Bubly, Pepsi launches startup accelerator in North America.

The goal is to work with innovative startups that focus on health and wellness.

Europe saw this program from Pepsi two years ago, now it’s here.

Is your startup based in the U.S. or Canada?

If so, you have a chance at being one of 10 startups to work with Pepsi.

The program called Nutrition Greenhouse will give $20,000 in grant money during a six-months business optimization program.

Imagine getting mentorship from executives that head companies like Quaker, Stacy’s and Naked.

It gets even better for one of the 10 companies

One will be awarded $100,000, with the opportunity to continue working together.

You do have to qualify and have a demonstrated sales track record to be considered.

This program is a big opportunity for a new company, which will not only learn how to adapt to shifting consumer tastes but gain new exposure a well.

Pepsi isn’t the first to come up with this.  General Mills and Tyson foods all have created similar programs.

Learning about a consumer on a broader scale will also help PepsiCo find new innovative ways to adapt to consumer needs, which are ever changing.

It’s important for companies to learn as much as they can in order to understand better this market. When you have a brand that comes under fire for health concerns as often as Pepsi does, it makes good sense to leverage the health and wellness sector. Through the accelerator, Pepsi may even find access to unforeseen opportunities, and seek an ownership stake in promising ventures for their own brand.

Have you tried the all new Pepsi Bubly yet?
