Shadow Ban Case Study

There’s been a lot of talk about the practice of “Shadow Banning”.

Are Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin keeping the content shared by Capitalists, Free Marketers, Libertarians, Conservatives, and Republicans out of social media platform users’ feeds?

We believe this may, indeed, be the case.

The fact of the matter is that this can be easily tested in the following manner:

  1. Collect users’ email addresses in order to advise them when new capitalist, free market, conservative content is shared;
  2. Ask those users to “Like” or “Follow” influential Conservatives, Republicans, and others who are not on the left on the main social media platforms, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn;
  3. Have those influential people post content promoting economic and intellectual freedom;
  4. Send an email to those that asked to be in the case study with a survey, asking those followers if the influential people’s new post showed up in their social feed; and
  5. Report the results.

Of course, we need to adjust for algorithmic factors.

We can do this by asking that people who see posts like and comment on them.  With hundreds of influential Free Marketers, we will be able to discover any patterns that show evidence that there is shadow banning going on.  These experiments in the case study will take a couple of weeks and the key to all of their success is people sharing them.

In order to get the word out about this shadow banning experiment, we need people to share it and spread the word.

If you have any contact with influencers with large followings on Facebook, Twitter, or Linkedin, please let them know about the study.  Ask them and other people you know to post about it.

Do you know a mailing list owner?

If you know people with mailing lists, please tell them that if they mail theirs lists telling people about the study. that we will mail the list of people who participate in the experiment about their content twice. Quid pro quo, as it were.

Remember that to participate in the experiment, we need an email address to let people know which people to follow and when their posts should be showing up.

Your business has a mailing list of customers. But be careful.

Emailing your customer list to tell them about the study may anger some.  Those that identify with intellectual and economic freedom, however, will likely become even more loyal customers to you, and they are also more likely to tell people about you.

It’s not a marketing move for the faint of heart but courageous Capitalists will likely be rewarded. Chance favors the bold.

Bloggers, vloggers, and podcasters…

should definitely talk about the study, as they will get the data (the percentage of followers who see the actual posts) in real time as we generate it.
